Who's On Your A-Team?

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty 0575737

A TeamIn the Real Estate world we as serving professionals need to "rely" on others around us to get the job done. The word "reliance" needs to stick foremost in your mind. Also, with our friends that we count on think "reliance" as well. So have you stepped back recently and evaluated

             WHO'S ON YOUR A-TEAM???

I know I have, and can go right down the list at work and in the friends department. You know in tennis or golf they sometimes say bring your A game. That means you are top flight. Today you are going to compete and just try to let anyone stop you. You need an A-Team around you to bring your A game. Think Tiger Woods doesn't need his caddy and multiple golf coaches for his A game? Think again!

Tips for identifying and putting together your A-Team:

These people get you excited and hold your interest. Pay attention to how you feel around these people. They are positive, physical feelings around these people. They don't make you feel inferior. Are they using their talents for good in the world? Are they increasing happiness and bringing people together? When you want to give up, who will make you feel better?

Also look to see in their eyes and their lives ones that have been through the battles. They are battle hardened. They have moved through difficulties already to success. Who are the ones that can be gentle and loving but at the same time push you to break barriers, push you hard and get you to your highest potential?

These are the warriors you want to take into battle. They can be relied upon. They are smart and don't have personal issues that drag the team down. Find your A-Team in business and with your friends and bring your A game to the task at hand. And then you'll get to say like Haninibal with that memorable quote

" I love it when a plan comes together! "

 Gary,

I had forgotten about the A Team but you are so right about how a team should be and the way they hold you up.  Team members and friends are there for support, strength and motivation as well as a little bit of love when needed.

Audrey: Don't tell Pam Pugmire about the book idea, she keeps reminding me. I'll get you on the distribution list when it comes out.

Chuck: Thanks.

Homes of Westchester: Have a good list with people in business for sure.

Donna: You are so right, if someone on your list doesn't prove out, they are tossed off the list.

Kim: Brilliant thought about feeding off each others energy.

Tom: With those guys as assistants, no one would mess with you. They would just sign on the dotted line.

Bo: I hope YOUR A Team shapes up for you.

Lenn: As Judy Greenberg calls me, Mr. Analogy.

Jim: It sounds like you have the great operation there for a smooth running team. All the right pieces in place and the right chemistry too. Very good.

Mary: Well thank you Mary. From my Vegas team, you're on it.

Liz: Boringly positive. I'll be the President of that club!!! LOL. Don't make me feel old when the A Team was on TV.

Don: It's great when the A Team is in place. It all works out.

Deb: Who do I turn to in Huntsville and Lake Livingston for the A Team. You Deb!!

Sondra: You are on my A Team any day. Glad you have heroes I may know...  ; )

GARY - Finding the right people to surround yourself with is key in life.  The only thing that I would add is that people should realize that this is a fluid process.  Your family will always be your family, but you never know when someone outside of your family will join your A-team, or conversely, leave your A-team.  This is particularly true with the professionals that we recommend to our clients and customers.

I maintain a referral list for everything real estate related. But my escrow officer, home inspectors and mortgage brokers are top notch. Clients often remark about what a great team we make because we continually double-check each other's progress in a transaction and keep everybody up to date on what's going on. I wouldn't be successful without my team members. They are essential.

Hi Gary, Faithful and loyal friends are the greatest gifts in our lives!  When the bullets start flying, they don't tuck their tails between their legs and run for cover!  They are there with you through thick and thin!  You are a faithful and loyal A-Team member to me and many others in AR!

Gary - relo companies refer to the "A team" when a broker selects their team of relo agents. I am fortunate, that in my office I am a ONE WOMAN A-team. THE one and only agent that runs with the relo leads that come in, but that is mostly in part to my background of working at a relo company before I got into real estate. As far as other agents in my office - I involve my broker more than them when I need back-up coverage, as in return she knows the people referred to us are our VIPs. In life, an A team is our close family and friends - and just like in the office enviroment they are the ones who are there to back us up - reliable & dependable! And, in crisis we find out quickly who our real friends are!

Adam: The fluid comment is a good one. People leave the A-team too.

Elizabeth: I thought you had a well polished team. Very good.

Dan: We're on the same team and this is good.

Carol: Back up, that sense of covering for you, in business and personal is a very good feeling.

Pam: I am getting way too much laughter out of you in my life. Can one die of laughter? What a way to go. I know I could write a book. I just need to know the mechanics of how it is done. Shoot everyone writes books these days. Even idiots. I qualify at least on that last one. I've got to give that seed a little more water, sunshine, and fertilizer and launch it. My sequel will be so much easier.

Judy: I know you build a great team. It comes from you being such a solid person. I would think it would be so much fun working with you too. You always have such a good outlook on life.

Gary,  this is a convenient post.. I loved watching the A-team   I heard that they are making an A Team Movie.  It is to be calls   A Team 2009.   Bruce Willis is to play Colonel Hanibal Smith.    The guy who played woody in "Cheers"  is said to be  Howling Mad Murdock.. thought I would pass that on.   An everyone does need an A-Team to work with..
