Is it ok to blog about local events happening in my community on activerain? I have not seen anyone making a blog about local events and announcement in their local communities.  If this is ok I would like to make announcements occasionally but I was just wondering if this breaks a rule. Any insight you may have will be greatly appreciated.

HI RICK!

Absolutely!  It is ok (in my opinion) to talk about events in your community.  Really, it's like your the star reporter for your area, but on the web!  I think it's a great way to connect people to your community!

Have a wonderful week!

Hi Rick - no doubt about it...you should take the opportunity to blog about these events on your blog.  It gets it out to the public and maybe gets your phone ringing.

Rick,

Talk about everything in your community.  Parades, opening of a new business, favorite restaurants, etc.  People connect with stories of a community.  I did a story about Palm Springs first cemetery.  Every town has story, why not you be the one to tell it??

You will want to post your community articles in the group "Posts to Localism".  Have a great week!!!

I would love to be your RealtorĀ® in Akron Ohio!

Absolutely, but make sure you also post it on Localism and all the way down to the area you want to brag about. Sometimes I go all the way down to my own little neighborhood, Firestone Park in Akron, Ohio. If yours is not listed, as mine was not, you can create it in Localism. Pretty neat.

Rick community events are always interesting to the locals. Don't forget to add community events to Localism. That's where it counts.

In fact, that's what Localism is mainly all about ... information on what's going on in your city or community...

Hi there,

You bet, just look around and you will find them.  It seems like so much has been written about everything in the rain, most of my posts have now evolved in the community/re news and events.

Hi Rick!  You should absolutely post about community events.  Even better, IMO, is to blog about them after the fact with photos to show that you are involved!  People love to see photos of their own area or an area they are thinking of relocating to, and giving them this type of information will definitely make you the local expert in their eye.

Hi Rick, I myself have being trying to write articles here in El Paso, but have not. Here localism is wide open.

My problem is that I have't the  time to photograph the area I would like post on. Run with it.~Roy

Caring expertise...knowledge for you!

It's important to share the super things our communities offer...otherwise, how can all these different regions become the larger "global" community, of this 21st Century?

Rick,

I think if you blog about your local functions on localism that you will get lots of hits.

Blogging about events in your community is a great marketing tool.  You are offering a service to those who may be interested in buying there.  Make sure to post it to Localism and available to the public.  In addition to potential clients, other Realtors will find the information interesting and if you show that you are knowledgable about your community, you may get some referrals from Realtors in other areas.

Rick,

You bet it is OK.  Who knows I might be in El Paso, and take advantage of some of the things  you have written about.
