When you travel highway # 24 past Woodland Park, Florissant, and Divide you drop into Park county. Getting to Park county is a trip into the OLD WEST, old farms, old ranches and at least one high pass.
Wilkerson Pass Colorado is beautiful no matter what time of the year you visit. Spring and summer in Colorado are the easiest times to travel some of the pass's. At 9507 feet above sea level it isn't for everybody. But the views, ahh the views are well worth any altitude sickness you might momentarily suffer.
Stop and watch the Buffalo herds at Lake George too.
