Commercial Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Weir Manuel

As you may have guessed have just joined and am new to this experience.

For those blogging experts (and I have reviewed many of your great tips and advice here) I have a question:

Is the active rain community for professionals, or consumers AND are you blogging here AND on your own personal home pages?

As I said...not a dumb question :)  Have you written any thing for your local area?  Try a piece on your community and post it for the public.  I have been on AR for just under a month and did my first one yesterday.  It felt great and my writing skills are starting (slowly) to improve.

That is a great idea! Doe that somehow go to the localism section also?

I have found only few commercial only brokers and agents in the AR community in my area. With our somewhat depressed SE Michigan market, knowing the current trends is key for the consumers and the industry.

Yes, it goes to Localism if you post to a region.  Once your post is written, click public, then follow the prompts for the region, state and city.  That would be great to be the first one out there for you community regarding commerical!  Good luck!

Puts People In Their Places!!

Hey James,

I am just over a week old Active Rainer!  Welcome to the Rain!  My suggestion is to just, roll up your sleeves and keep writing!  Write about what you know, research some of the things that are current in your expertise or area and put your spin on them!  I'm going out with my camera today to take pics at The Mud Hens Stadium.  Opening day is not too far off & I'm going to insert it in the Localism Section. That area gets a lot of hits and I want people to see my article.  What's a spring  event that is going on that you could take advantage of?

I've been working to acquire as many point as possible to raise myself up the rankings in my locale and state.  The higher you are the great possibility that prospective buyers and sellers will see you!  I read a great article on this subject by a Active Rainer Rob Blake the link is included here:

I believe blogging will help grow your business, because 75 to 80% of buyers & sellers start looking for homes online and this format will help you move your web site up the search engines!

Also check out Laura Manny's article titled, Do you SEO?  http://activerain.com/blogsview/57364/Do-You-SEO.

If I can help, just leave a comment!

Rick,

Thank you for the welcome. Good ideas to get Local.

I have read some of those statistics for buyers. I specialize in commercial only, but feel that the online market is an untapped area for commercial brokers. (I guess I just let the secret out)

Your comments are very helpful. Thanks

Theresa - Your awesome - I'll get started!

Rich,

Thank you for pointing to the blog. I will and do have some questions. There is SO much information it is difficult even for someone like me who is heavy in the research light on the "just do it".
