New Companies/ Brokers out there

By
Real Estate Agent with DRM Residential Properties, Inc.

I am getting ready to open my own brokerage in the next couple of months.  I am looking for any advice that independants can give.  What steps were a must when you got started?  I have been studying for a while about getting started, I just don't want anything to slip through the cracks.  I have had my Brokers license for almost 2 years now, and I am itching to get started.  Any advice you could give me would be very much appreciated.

Anything that you have done that you wish you would have done in the very beginning?

Did you start with a team or did you hire independant contractors (agents)?

How detailed was your business plan, did you write one?

What type of advertising/marketing did you start with?

Did you start with debt, or did you pay as the cash became available?

Thanks in advance!

Two pieces of advice I can give you:

Build a brand and stick with it as everytime you change something is lost.

Make sure you have a year capitilization, or you will be forever behind the 8 ball and it is hard to catch up.

Those are the things I wish I could get a mulligan on.
