This week-end as I was cutting my grass... I started thinking about how lucky I am to live in such a great country and to say that I own a part of this great country. I live on 18 acres so I have lots of time to think as I go up and down on my mower; looking at the sky, trees, hawks flying and thinking of all the sons & daughters, mothers & fathers, husbands & wives and friends that have given their lives for all of us to be free! A tear ran down my face and I thought I should write a post on this. But I did not!
Then on the news they told a story about a man from California that was running from California to Arlington Cemetery in honor of a dear friend who died in the war. They were posting a flag with a soldiers name on it for each soldier that has died. Again I thought I should write about that and again I did not.
Then this morning I heard a news story of how that runner came through Clarksville, TN to Nashville, TN. I grabbed a cup of coffee and went to work with the thought; I should post something about this, but again I did not.
On my way home, driving from Clarksville down Hwy 48 (a two lane road) I saw in the corner of my eye a flag tied to a street sign. Then, thinking of the story from this morning; I saw another flag, every mile was a flag...tears filled my eyes at the sadness; all the lives lost to keep our country free! I did not know how close the runners were to my home and that they were posting those flags as I was mowing my yard being thankful for the freedom we enjoy.
The reason I am writing this post is to say...
I know each American has pride in our Country & it's Soldiers but we do not always tell anyone. I want to say to everyone ... speak out about your American Pride and let our Military know how we feel!
I would like to say I am sorry for the sorrow suffered by the families who have lost a loved one due to war.
To say THANK-YOU to the soldiers and their families that are currently serving our military and to those who have served in the past.
I would like the comments for this post to be a tribute to honor All the Men & Women that have given their lives, who are currently serving or who have ever served the military! If you have a picture post it with their name and anything you would like to say about them!
I send my love and gratitude to all who have served in the Military and for what you have given to keep the United States Free.
God Bless you and Your Families!
