That's right!   The number of single women buying homes has doubled since 1989, according to the National Association of Realtors, and by 2003, 21 percent of all home purchases were made by women.    By 2010, nearly 31 Million households - 28% of all households in the country - will be headed by women.  How's that for Girl Power!?!

There are many advantages to buying a home versus renting one.  In many cases, the amount of money a renter spends on rent can be about the same as or less than the amount a homeowner spends on a mortgage. With the tax benefit for homeowners, the savings can be significant.  

Buying a home for many is one of the largest investments that people will make in their lifetime.  It is also the best long-term investment that you can make.   

Women home buyers come in all sizes, shapes and ages. They are divorced, never married, separated, widowed; some have children, others live with friends or partners and many live alone. 

Women buy for a varying number of reasons.  Some of which are needing more space or a smaller home, being closer to family, schools, or their job.  Others have a strong desire to own their own home, a second home or vacation home.
