So... now that we have brochures, what are we going to do to further our careers??

What are YOU doing??

We preach a pretty simple philosophy, do the basics and the riches will follow...

So, in the midst of cleaning out old boxes at the ranch, I stumbled across my old files from when I joined Classic Realty Inc.  They say it is always best to lead by example, so here are some examples of what I did to get my career up and running...

When I got started in the real estate business, I had a Chevy pickup truck, a wife in college, a smile, and I knew NO-ONE in this county!!  My point is:  that if a skinny, dumb farm boy from Friona, TX can walk into Bryan College Station or Brazos County and start selling real estate, then so can you.....

So, I had to learn how to get to know people, how to build a contact list, how to stay in touch, how to work clients, how to read contracts, how to understand the closing process, and how to stay out of legal trouble.  I left cards everywhere I could think of..... every office I visited, every social event I went to, every doctor's appointment, Heck, I can even remember when my son was born, asking the anesthesiologist if he had a house yet when he came in to give my children's mother her epidural... I asked every nurse, every doctor, any one I saw.... He-he-he!!  The statement I used was very simple...

"Good grief, I'm about to be a Father!!!  I'm gonna go broke!!  :)  Surely, some one in here needs a new house???  I've got to start saving for a college education!!" 

People thought that was pretty funny, and no, I didn't sell any body there anything that day, but guess what, over the years..... I still get some referrals from those people..... J 

Now, I hope this will be some fun..... Here are some ideas that we can all use.....

The idea is certainly NOT that I did it all correctly..... He-he!!   There are a LOT of things I would do differently if I was to do it all over again..... that's where Trey and I come in handy... we've been there, done that!!  :)

Well...... I tried to insert an image of a "Road Map for Success" but, couldn't figure out how to get it done and I've got to move on to other things... I do have in in email form, so if you want it... I'll gladly send it to ya!!
