Marketing basics - Business Cards

Hey there!  : )

This is just a basic marketing idea that should not be overlooked by anyone.  In any sales position, the most important process is to grow your sphere or influence.

An easy way to do this is to give a business card to every person you come in contact with.  One of the most successful franchise owners I know once told me, "You don't have to be good at marketing, you just have to do it!"

This is very true.  In most aspects of life, you find ourself maketing something... it might be a product, service or ourselves.  We market ourselves all the time.  When we meet new people and talk about the things we do.

I always keep business cards with me whenever I am out and about.  I give a business card to anyone I come in contact with... like the cashier at the gas station, the waitress at the restaurant, the desk clerk at the hotel I was at, etc...

If you are paying someone for something... give them your business card.  This is an easy way to let people know who you are and what you do.

If you make this a habit, you will see that this will turn into deals.  I make a goal of giving 200 cards out each week.  That is about 30 cards a day.  You may want to start with 5-10 each day.  Make the goal acchievable, don't set yourself up for failure.  Just because you gave the dry cleaner your card last week, does not mean you shouldn't give him another card the next time you drop off clothes. It is just more exposure for you. : )

Remember, most people will have to see you 4-5 times before they will buy from you.  You are making an impression every time that person sees you.  This will help him think of your name if someone is needing your services and asks that person for any suggestions.

Like most sales... it is all about setting habits and goals.

Hope this helps y'all

Have a GREAT day!!!

Dave
