It has been a long time since I've gone to check out and see how the foreclosures are
working on the county courthouse steps. Today, I decided to go (for the sake of
embarrasing this county I will not mention the name) see how they are conducting
these sales since there are so many foreclosures happening.
I arrived very early because I was told people would lining up already at 7-7:30 a.m.
Well, I observed as the line started to get longer and longer. I asked the 3 nice
police officers who were checking out everyone just like they do at the airport if all
of these people were waiting for the auction. To my surprise, the left hand at the
courthouse doesn't know what the right had is doing there. I proceeded to watch
as they set up a table and few chairs. People were sitting around in private chairs
they brought from home and some of them had their folders and briefcases. I
went inside to the "real estate" department to ask few questions about todays
process. NO HELP! All the clerks sit there collect their paychecks but seem to
know NOTHING about nothing! It was very interesting. I went around just asking
random quetions just to see how much information I would receive. I was told
that today's auction may start around 9:00 a.m. Another person said maybe
around 10 a.m. Then one lady who seemed to be very bothered when I asked
her few questions said I may have to be there until 4:00 p.m.
It has been a long time since I've attended these auctions on courthouse steps.
The County where I've been before were more organized, people seemed more willing
to answer questions and know what they were talking about. Today was not the
case. I felt frustrated knowing that all these people collect paychecks from
taxpayers money and were absolutely of NO HELP! I decided not to stay all day,.
I hope they had a good turnout but if BANKS are counting on any help from these
employees of the courthouse - SORRY, we are heading into tougher days ahead.
