Marketing Idea? Let's Talk About It...

Let me start with a few photos I took on the way home.  It was just one of those moments I had to capture.

I saw this marketeer today who has an interesting response to a challenging market. Differentiation?

Though I am not personally a Real Estate Agent I have spent most of my career promoting value opportunities, (ok I am a salesman).  I keep hearing how tough the real estate market is right now.  In many ways what matters most is what is our response to the current opportunity. I prefer to look at challenges as opportunities and have noticed there always seems to be people and businesses that rise to the top even in toughest of markets.

One of the ways to take advantage of a softer or more challenging market is by differentiating yourself.  Doing something BOLD or out of the "box".

Now what I am NOT necessarily promoting is that you picture yourself in a camping chair, with a colorful beach umbrella, a cold wet rag around your neck, your ball cap in a bucket of water holding a sign showing your latest listing!  I guess you could try ...NOT.

What I am wondering is if you have considered using streaming video or a "movie" to promote yourself, services and property listings?

Of course I have a bit of a bias but wouldn't you agree "Motion creates Emotion".

Bust out of your "box" and consider joining the Video Revolution as discussed in the July 08 issue of Realtor Magazine.

Obviously you could use a videographer but don't let that hold you back.  Be free to experiment with doing your own video.  Whether of your listing, or community take a chance to succeed and lead

RealtyVID.com is a great place to host your video for FREE.  So if you took your own video and we hosted it.....cost is not the issue!

It's the old Nike thing....just do it!

Question: What are some other ways you are differentiating yourself in the market?

Have a Great Day!  John

O.K., I am looking at "new" marketing ideas.. that are personal and not expensive... I would think directing and shooting a video would be expensive... any other ideas?  I not being a smarty... seriously I am looking for more ideas.

Thanks for your input Selena.  I agree that video can be expensive....it doesn't have to be.  Depending on the situation it may warrant the investment of a professional videographer and personality like Tara. If that is not the case you could direct and shoot the video yourself.  We offer to host it for you for free. You can then put the our player right in your website and we will syndicate the video to other sites.  Reeldwellings.tv is doing a great job teaching people how to do it themselves and offer their services for times when paying to have a professional and even a personality showcase your property.  Check out these how to videos done by professionals.
