Oh how I hate to admit it, but, I am always late and have been trying for years to break the habit. It is a case of always trying to squeeze in one more thing to do before leaving for the listing, showing, dentist, doctor, football game (you get the idea) appointment. Something happened to me in July that really, finally hit home
I have a gorgeous new listing; the owners are away for the weekend. I have open house scheduled for Sunday. I have everything ready the day before, I am even hosting a brunch in the morning I am so ready! I leave with plenty of time to arrive, put up all of my open house signs, pull in the driveway and the skies open and we get hit with an unbelievable down pour. By the time I get my last sign up and trudge in the house (side door access) with all of my paraphernalia, I am dripping wet - so much for the little pop up umbrella! As I step into the laundry room from the garage I realize - I am early!! So, I strip off my wash and wear slacks that are dripping on the ceramic floor and throw them in the dryer. I quickly scoot into the kitchen lay out my brochures, listing book, etc. turn on the lights I can safely get to without being seen and hightail it back to the laundry praying that no one shows up before 2! When I heard the first car door slam I grabbed them out of the dryer, slipped them on and was ready to greet the first visitors by the time they made it to the front door.
All day all I could think about was, thank goodness I was on time! Lesson learned and oops, got to go - I don't have time for this one last thing.
PS This is the first blog post I have ever written.
