In this market (3rd quarter, 2008), it is very hard to navigate through what homes you actually can buy and what homes you cannot buy. Sounds confusing, but I can make it very simple. Make sure your real estate agent knows you are interested in new built homes. Search the market with your agent on the computer, and watch them call the homes first, make sure there are no offers already pending on the home, and the home is available to buy in the time frame you want to move in.
