The 71st annual Momence Gladiolus Festival, "Glads in Paradise," will kick into full gear tonight. The carnival will begin and the kid's parade will be held. It continues through Sunday. Katherine Newberry was crowned queen of the 2008 Gladiolus Festival on Wednesday. Sydney Reams (Our Realtor Linda Krause' grandaughter!!!) was crowned princess.
Thursday - August 7th
6:30 p.m. -- Kid's parade, Washington Street
7 p.m.-11 p.m. -- Carnival at Je-Neir Elementary School grounds. Bracelets are available for $18 and allows unlimited rides. Adult admission to the grounds is $1
Friday - August 8th
3 p.m. -- Glad Run for children, reviewing stand
3:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. -- Dave Rudolf Family Entertainment
5:30 p.m. -- Parade of old cars
6 p.m. -- Main Street Parade
6:30 p.m.-11 p.m. -- Carnival at Je-Neir grounds. Bracelets are available for $18 and allows unlimited rides. Adult admission to the grounds is $1
7 p.m.-11 p.m. -- Beer tent
8 p.m. -11 p.m. -- Jimmy Buffet tribute band "Gone 2 Paradise," River Street stage. There is a $5 admission charge
Saturday - August 9th
8 a.m. -- 5-kilometer and 10-kilometer River Run, sponsored by Lions Club
8 a.m.- 3 p.m. -- Antique car show and car corral giant flea, swap and craft market, Momence Island Park. There is a $2 admission
3 p.m. - Grand street parade
4 p.m.-10:30 p.m. -- Carnival at Je-Neir school grounds. Bracelets are available for $20 and allows unlimited rides. Adult admission to the grounds is $1
7 p.m.-midnight -- Beer tent
8 p.m.-midnight -- Dance featuring 1970s band Libido Funk Circus, River Street stage. There is a $5 admission
11 p.m. - Glad Fest raffle drawing, River Street stage
Sunday - August 10th
8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. -- Antique farm tractor and classic truck show, giant flea, swap and craft market, Momence Island Park. There is a $2 admission fee.
Noon- 4 p.m. -- Adult bean bag tournament and beer tent
