Cell Phone TRICKS!!!!!!!!

By
Home Inspector with Domicile Analysis of Texas

Things you never knew about your cell phone. This is good information to keep in your wallet and purse in                                                                                times of grave emergencies.

Have you ever been in a area that your mobile network has no coverage?

The emergency number worldwide for a cell phone is 112. Dial 112 and the cell phone will search any existing network establishing the emergency number for you, and interestingly, the number can be dialed even if  the keypad is locked.  Try it out.

Have you locked your keys in the car?

Does your car have remote keyless entry? This may come in handy someday. If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on their cell phone from your cell phone.

Now hold your cell phone about a foot away from your car door and have the the person at the other end press the unlock button, holding it near to their cell phone. Your car will unlock. Save somebody the time of driving your keys to you. Distance is no object. It will work coast to coast and further.

Your battery power go's dead and you forgot your charger?

Hidden battery power- Imagine your cell battery is so low the phone will not activate. Press the keys *3370# and your cell will restart with this reserve and it will show a 50% increase in the battery. This reserve will get charged when you put your cell phone on the charger.

How to disable a stolen cell phone?

To check your cell phone's serial number, key in the following digits on your phone *#06#. A 15-digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Writ it down and keep it somewhere safe.

When your phone gets stolen, you can phone your service provider, give them this code and they will be able to block your handset so even if the thief  changes the sim card, your phone will be totally useless. This way whoever stole it can"t use it or sell it either.

Free directory service for cell phones!

Cell phone companies are charging about a $ 1.00 to $ 1.75 or more for 411 information calls when they don"t have to. Most of us do not carry a telephone directory in our cars, which makes this situation even more of a problem. When you need to use 411 information option, simply dial 800/ 373-3411, incurring no charges at all. Program this into your sell phone.

*If you locked your keys and your cell phone in the car, then it just is not going to be your day.

This is great information! Now, I feel really stupid. I forgot there was a phone book in my car today and dialed 411. That is a really neat key trick that I'll be passing on.

Justin, I have not tried that, but the one Roy mentions if 800-FREE-411, and recently, I heard of 800-GOOG-411.  My experience with FREE-411 has been difficult, as it has troubles sometimes understanding my request.  The GOOG-411 I just used last week, after 8 times, I gave up & went back to FREE-411, and it got it 1st time. I'll have to try your as well.
