Wasson Brothers Winery Sandy, Oregon ~ Stop By and Say Hello!

Real Estate Agent with John L. Scott Sandy

Wasson Brother Winery Sandy OregonOn a warm, spring day I ventured out into our fair town of Sandy, Oregon.

Today, I decided to pay a visit to a business that has been in Sandy for many years.

Wasson Brothers Winery is owned and operated by Oregon natives Jim Wasson and his twin brother, John.  The Wasson Brothers have been in the wine-making business locally for 26 years.

Jim Wasson and his famous winesThere are many different kinds of wines that the Wasson Brothers offer.  About half of the wines produced are grape wines that are grown in Oregon City.  The other half of wines produced are fruit and berry wines.

Here is Jim standing proudly next to his delicious wines.  Jim's favorite is the Pinot Noir.  Some of the bestsellers are the Niagra, Blackberry, and Raspberry wines.

In addition, Wasson Brothers produces Spumanti, Sparkling Niagra, Sparkling Rhubarb, Rhubarb, Loganberry, Reisling, Chardonnay, Cabernet, Gewurtztraminer, Oregon White Reisling, Early Muscat, Zinfandel and Oregon Gewurtztraminer.

If you would like to try these unique wines, the tasting room is open for FREE wine tastings from 9-5 Monday through Saturday and from 10-5 on Sundays.  It is located just off Highway 26.  Stop by on your way home from the mountains or on your way to Central Oregon.  You will find the perfect wine for your occasion.

Another musing by your local Sandy & Gresham, Oregon Realtor.

Thanks for the post, Valerie! Mr Wasson's daughter was a very good friend of mine in HS - They have some incredible dessert wines including a thick raspberry that goes well atop vanilla ice cream (yes, that thick and sweet).   As well as a 'muscrat' and loganberry that are tasty (but not necessarily dessert wines) -

I just purchased the Blackberry at Blue Heron in Tillamook after trying 1 sip.  Incredible!  I would be interested in purchasing more but, sadly, their webpage refuses to come up.  Anybody knowing them might want to put a bug in their ears about that--lost sales and all.

I moved to Arkansas in 2000, since then I can not find a wine that almost equals yours.  I will see you on my next visit.

I'm in the process of moving to sandy oregon, and  I have read the benifits of a good red wine. I have tried merlot and it is okay,  what kind of red wine would I like that  has a smooth taste to it?     my all time favorite wine is  the white german wine  Muellar thorgau. It fits my taste to a tee.  Now I need a good red wine that has a light  taste to it.   and  also what kind of white wine do you make that is close to the   muellar  thorgau?     thanks
