Eager to exchange ideas on marketing older homes

By
Real Estate Agent with Howard Hanna Real Estate

I'd like to see our group exchange ideas about the best ways to reinvigorate our older neighborhoods and get R.E. agents ready to list and sell to actual residents and not just landlords. Those neighborhoods where people own homes are the ones that build stability and safer communities. What are you doing to make that a trend?

Charlyn,

I offer a free monthly guided driving tour of historic homes in the area.  A tour one month might focus on victorians and then craftsman or tudor.

You have alot of knowledge, share it.   Freely

Thanks! That's a really good idea!

Does California have tax credits or incentives for historic restoration applying to single family homes?

I hired a historic architect to come and give a seminar about historic styles, construction and other information.  We invited all the realtors who had historic listings, and if they desired (which of course they did), she would research their listing and speak about the first 12 that requested.  We had a full house, lots of interest and all learned lots!  We hosted it at a historic home that was listed, which was wonderful fun and brought more showings!
