I would like to tell you about a very wonderful restaurant that I love called the Falls Terrace. Not only does this restaurant have wonderful service and food but has an absolutely stunning view as it actually sits overlooking a waterfall. The Falls Terrace is located on the Deschutes River between Tumwater Falls Park & Tumwater Historical Parks and overlooking the famous Tumwater/Deschutes River Falls in the city of Tumwater.
One of the greatest parts about this restaurant is that it is much more than a place to eat. When the weather is fair or better it can be an adventure. It is a wonderful time to couple your dining experience either before or after with the nearby sites. The Falls Terrace itself sits overlooking the Deschutes River which has wonderful walking trails on both sides of the river and a park. When navigating the walking trails you will see several beautiful water falls. You can see the river's edge salmon ladders that were built to allow CoHo and Chinook salmon to swim upstream to the fish hatchery in October. Also along the trails you would certainly enjoy the forest, marshlands, wonderful array of birds and wildlife. You will also be able to see the historic Brick-Brew House which was built in 1906 for Leopold Schmidt, the founder of the Olympia Brewing Company. This walk is ever so beautiful whenever the weather permits and I would recommend it even if you do not eat at the restaurant, and there is no admission fee for the park and trails.
Now the restaurant if-self is delightful. The menu is great and the food delicious. I have always found the waiters and staff to be absolutely wonderful. The atmosphere is one of a casual to fine dinning, however there isn't a dress code I am aware of. Did I mention the views are stunning? Even at night the view is amazing, with the bright lights that shine onto the waterfall. Even with the great food, service, ambiance, and view the average meal runs around $20 a bargain. The Falls Terrace also has a spacious lounge with outdoor deck views and a banquet room for those larger parties.
