Yep that is a nickname for Hearne, Texas.....The Crossroads. Lots of Higway and railway lines come together in Hearne.
Our residence is about 5 miles from the city limit , but we can hear those train cars coupling at night when the wind is right. It doesn't bother us in the least and somehow it is a reassuring sound that commerce never sleeps in the USA...even in a small town like Hearne, Tx.
Hearne is experiencing sudden economic growth right now, but it still maintains that small town atmosphere. A pleasant slower pace of life where on Saturday afternoons most lawns are freshly mowed, and the decision on where to eat out tonight isn't too difficult.
