I'm interested in trying Meetup.com to set up a small business success group in Boise, Idaho. I'd like to invite realtors and mortgage lenders, along with small business owners from other industries (makes for a nice referral group). I'm curious if anyone has experience (good or otherwise) with Meetup.com? It's a fee based service to arrange the "meetups", so I'm not sure how many people it will attract. Thanks for your input!

I really haven't had any success with that. I would recommend joining or creating your own BNI group.

Referral groups only work as well and as hard as the members in them....and in this area...they either meet too frequently (weekly) or not often enough (monthly) and members often use them as a social outlet rather than a referral source.
