Good success with kids

When I first started working with kids I wondered how I would do. Since our son is 21 years old and I haven't had any kids around I had my doubts. To my surprise during the last 10 weeks of this summer I have learned that I'm a fun guy with kids. At least that what they say.

This summer the most wonderful project I have ever participated in has been a raving success. Kidz-n-Biz is the project I'm talking about. If you have been following my blog for a while you know I started this project on June 4, 2008 as a way to teach kids about business. Well what has actually happened is that we have been working with 15 kids who either own their own business or participate as an employee of a kid in business. The kids learn for 44 minutes every Wednesday and they have an opportunity to apply what they learn in the Kidz-n-Biz mall.

Some of the great things that have happened:

* Kids received a great experience this summer
* Kids got a great chance to learn from each other
* Business owners shared their expertise with the kids
* Business owners got a chance to sponsor the project.
* Instructors received gratification of seeing the kids grow in their business understanding
* Instructors got a chance to be the first to participate in this pilot project
