Every week it seems there is some I get news from the mortgage markets to make it more difficult for people to buy a home. In this entry I don't have good news with this regard, but I just wanted to remind people of option that is availble still but has a deadline.
The option available is to those folks who would like to buy a forclosure from HUD. If you still want a zero down deal to buy a home; the "HUD $100 down program" is still available (does not go away on October 1st with downpayment assistance). With the HUD $100 down program, the buyer must purchase a HUD Foreclosure with FHA financing ($288,750 cap) and owner occupy the property. If you do this then HUD allows 100% financing (less $100) and lets the buyer roll in closing costs as well.
Just be aware of the deadline because you must act quickly to get this done.
