    There are many things that you can do to prevent yourself from being the victim. The one thing that you should do at least is to order yours once a year free credit report from each of the three credit bureaus. To order your free credit report, you can either go online at or call their toll free at 1-877-322-8228. When doing this, I recommend that you should order the report one at a time NOT all at once. When spreading it out, you are inadvertently perform a manual monitor of your credit. I would order one by end of January, another by end of September, and the last one by end of December.  Why those time? When you order your credit report by January, you will see all accesses to your credit report during the Christmas shopping season. Like wise, when you order your credit report in December, you will see all accesses to your credit report during the Thanksgiving shopping season.

 your three credit bureaus.  When there is no activity, they will send you a monthly notification indicating no activity on your credits. This is one thing I hope that I never have to deal with.  But, odds are that at some time in our life all of us will.  We do all that we can to prevent it and I only can hope that it is enough.
