GETTING BACK TO BETTER FOODS

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams

I live on a farm in Western North Carolina and we raise pasture fed, hormone and antibiotic free beef.  We also have sweet corn and honey.

Our farming niche is raising dairy heifers.  There are not too many dairies left here in Western North Carolina; makes us wonder how much milk will cost one day!

We are in the process of placing our farm in a conservation easement.  North Carolina is losing more farmland to development than any other state and we want to at least have one farm left around this area!

Our children live on the farm and are making a good life for themselves.  Hopefully, one day my daughter will open her Farm Stay and capitalize on the many tourists that come to visit this beautiful area.

Come visit us sometime!  Better still, let me find you a place to live here!

I believe that good, local citizens should get involved in local politics and volunteer for boards that help make their communities better places to live.  I currently serve on the Transylvlania County Planning Board, the local Farm Bureau Board and the Western Community Action Board.  All three positions give me a more clear picture of county government as well as how some people struggle just to have housing.

As a real estate agent, I am currently working with the Working Man's Realtor Team which strives to find homes for local people.  Our county has many high end homes, but very few homes that our local folks can afford. This is because we have lost so much industry in our small rural county.  However, we are blessed in that we live in one of the most sought after place to live in the U.S.A!  Tourism is one of our main industries here in the mountains and we welcome that with open arms.  We have over 250 waterfalls in our county alone!  Trout fishing is abundant here as is kayaking, hiking, bicycling, hunting and just enjoying the beautiful mountain scenery and streams!  Our people are our greatest asset!  Sit back and enjoy the mountain talent............crafts, quilting, and the music; oh, my goodness, the music!  Bluegrass reigns here!  COME VISIT US!
