Security Patrol of Sun City Center is staffed by volunteers. Their cars patrol our community roads seven days a week . These efforts have helped to make SCC one of the safest communities in the State.
Residents are encouraged to do their part. Take the time to make your home safe. Keep all doors closed and locked, especially the over head garage door.
That open garage door is an invitation for a thief to make off with your golf clubs, expensive tools, perhaps your car or golf cart.
There’s also a good chance that if the main garage door is open, the service door into the house is unlocked. What an opportunity for a criminal to move in and look for cash, jewelry or other items.
In the summer some people like to leave their garage doors open in order to keep the garage cooler. Don’t do it. It’s not worth the risk. Even if you’re just out in the back yard working, keep your garage door closed.
