THE POWER OF YOUR PICTURE WHEN ADVERTISING

This seems like a very inconsequential topic. But it may be much more powerful than we initially assume. In running a real estate brokerage for many years I have experienced many real estate professional's orientation & adjustment periods when starting new in my office. One topic that has always been controversial was about business cards. The company paid for the cost for all associate's business cards and I did not include space for their personal photo. My reasoning was that we specialize in high end rentals in which the company paid all associate costs for marketing, advertising, office overhead, etc. The leads were generated and appointments scheduled for each associate so all they had to do was create their relationship with the prospect and close a rental. Our business cards reflected vital information about our specialty to insure the prospective client was familiar with our services leaving no room for pictures.
On the other hand I understand the power of a picture. I understand how in many ways it is a benefit for a prospect to see who he or she will be dealing with in a transaction. In seeing their photo it may create more of a comfort in that prospective salesperson's credibility, professionalism, and knowledge. But at the same time I have come across many real estate business cards which could be described as almost pornographic in nature. I once had a prospective realtor who wanted to join my brokerage bring in her photos that were to be inserted on her new business cards. The photos displayed her spread out across the hood of a rolls royce in a fur coat. The perfect "first impression" for our professional organization?
So this small question creates interest for me....What are your thoughts about real estate professional's pics on their business cards?
