The blueberries in New York State are ripe and ready to pick.
This weekend we took my oldest two granddaughters to our cabin in Otsego County in New York.
While there we picked some delicious blueberries.. and enjoyed the results. While picking we ate our share.
On Sunday we had fresh blueberry pancakes.
Visit New York and stop at one of the many pick your own farms- It is great fun and the benefits are well worth the work!
My husband went huckleberry picking here in Idaho a couple weeks ago. I think they are very similar to bluberries.....time conuming but worth it.

Barbara - blueberries, my favorite fruit. One of the healthiest foods you can eat. Used to go every year, in Oregon, pick one, eat one. Would get about 20 pounds each time.

Mike- Antioxidants!!!! 20 pounds- now that is a lot of work- although, we probably would have had 20 pounds if we did not eat so many.
Paddy- I love what I do... thank you for your support. ActiveRain is part of my life- I am not leaving this forum! The Jonas Brothers should be loads of fun- I think they are great. My friend is bringing her daughter and neice too. They are convinced that the brothers are going to fall in love with them! Cute! Have a great time! Take some pictures to share!
I will Barbara. Sorry my girls are the lucky ones to get the boys to fall in love with them though. they think it could really happen. Do you remember when we believed things like that too?
Paddy- I was getting a charge out of the dynamics the otherday between the cousins- While they love each other and are best friends they each knew that they were the one to walk away with the 15 year old Jonas brother. It was a sorry to be you conversation.
Oh I remember for me it was an old group- that no one has heard of "Dino, Desi and Billy" for Becky it was ( and secretly is) Derek Jeter...and Heather she just loved everybody!
Absolutely beautiful post and music video Barbara! We have blueberry farms in IN but the season is just about over. As children Mom & Dad used to take us and we would eat more than pick LOL

Sure Tatyana- You are going to love them- They become habit forming.... I even made some in the shape of Mickey Mouse heads- The kids favorites.

Now, I have to get in on the whole Jonas Brothers discussion. I wish we had tickets to take Daniele and Molly.. I love them (I know, I'm 30-something and still love boy bands- I was so disappointed that we missed them at the Disney Channel games by 3 days!!!) And yes, I still love Derek Jeter- and I missed my big chance with him years ago when Jose went to his New Year's Eve party and I refused to answer my phone.. ugh!!!
Laura- The kids love just doing something different with "Ba and Poppy"- I have been thinking aboutthose pancakes all week- I have to make some more this weekend- I wish I "taster-net" so I could send them out to my friends.
