Law of Attraction - What is it ? How does it work ? How is working for you ?

Law of Attraction - The phrase Law of Attraction, although used widely by esoteric writers, has a variety of definitions. Turn of the century references conceptualized the law of attraction as relating to physical structure and to how matter develops. A more modern consensus among New Thought thinkers is that the Law of Attraction says people's thoughts (both conscious and unconscious) dictate the reality of their lives, whether or not they're aware of it. Essentially "if you really want something and believe it's possible, you'll probably get it" but that putting a lot of attention and thought onto something you don't want means you'll probably get that too.From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

 Now that the defination of the " Law of Attraction" is understood let's ask the most concerning question you have as a seller :

  1. " Why isn't my home selling ? "

 Let's re-phrase what I hear, what your family or friends here :

" My house has been on the market for months, the market is horrible, nothing is selling, I am never going to be able to sell my house ". Oh well, maybe next year, or when the market picks up"

Whether speaking that very statement out loud, under your breath or even thinking it, those are the thoughts you are projecting and in turn the " Universe", " The Law of Attraction is giving you exactly what you want ! See, the Law of Attraction is fed off of what we think and feel. What we do, say or how we act, in any manner, whether positive or negative. We allow what goes on in our world, our home, our society to determine how we are suppose to feel rather than what we actually feel. For example :

      * Have you ever wondered why the house down the street sold and yours didn't ? *

Your home is your castle ? You have built your home upon strong foundation of morals, principles and valuable memories. Every wall, stairwell, planted bush is a milestone. It is your prize possession. Your goal is for it to become someone Else's prize possession. Living on for others to enjoy and raise their family. Why wouldn't someone want to purchase your castle ?

Putting the Law of Attraction to work for you : Let's stop looking at everything obtained as luck and understand that our thoughts are giving us what we get. If we want our house to sell but walk around saying I don't want to sit here forever, by default, you will be sitting there forever because your thoughts are already saying " Your sitting here forever". Rightfully, by your words you are attracting what you do not want because you are speaking it. By focusing on what you want, those are the things you will attract.

Whether you want to purchase a home, sell a home, open a business, find your dream job your thoughts of " wanting" should be the main focus. We all don't want things, I don't want a flat tire, I want to make it to work on time...period....no negative thought just positive affirmation that I WILL arrive to work on time. Why ? Because I want to. And because I want to and because I BELIEVE that I will all good things will come. I have spoken no negative thought to hinder my attendance therefor I will attract nothing but positive things.

Lets Practice :

  • I want to sell my house
  • I will sell my house
  • Someone wants to purchase my home because of my hard work
  • My home is exactly what others need and want
  • It doesn't matter what the media says, my house will sell
  • My Agent is doing a wonderful job to sell my house

Practice those thoughts. Allow the "Law of Attraction" to work for you, your family in all of your desires.

What an excellent post Melissa!  I am dealing with that right now.  I have a sphere listing coming up and a handful of people saying "it'll never sell".  Uh huh, just you wait :)  I hate armchair pros, they try to steal my thunder every time!

Richard - That is actually what the " law" is saying. Even biblically it says " Ask and you shall receive", the most important part to remember in all of this is that whatever you want, whatever you ask you have to believe it's yours. If you doubt the very words you speak you are hindering your very own performance.For example :

I don't know if I want this job anymore : You have created what you do not want by negative thought instead start your day with :

I want to know what I want...see the difference in the words...you are proclaiming what you do want rather than what you don't want.

Same holds true for your car ride on the way to work, I want to get to work on time, boy I hope I don't have car trouble on the way....by default pretty much any obstacle can be thrown at you because you have created " negative "

Tim - Actually you can and still be concrete. For example : You are on a listing appt. You are going through your listing package, you are listening to the sellers talk about the media or the market conditions, first you must know that OUR job is not help others focus on the problem, our job is to uplift others and imagine them exactly where they need to be, like a seller who wants to sell their home. We can say things like :

  1. I want to sell your home, I believe I can sell your home because....show them all the means you use to get their home sold
  2. I also ask my sellers to stop watching what is on the media. Crossville is different than the national average. I teach them to focus on the positive things, the things they have done to their home that would want the potential buyer to purchase it and so on...

By doing these things you are uplifting them, you are convinced yourself you can sell their home in turn depleting every negative thought they had about a Real Estate Agent or the market. Now, they are focused on simply " I am selling my home".....make sense ?

Because we have simply addressed and accepted the fact that others are entitled to live their lives however they choose that does not mean we get to allow others to invade our private space...

Positive is great without a doubt but the price is something that sellers need to look at in a positive way too.  But it's good to remain positive and good to remind everyone to stay that way because good things will come!  Thanks for your uplifting ideas!

Melissa - you are right on.  Another way to attract buyers, especially if a home has been sitting a while, is to offer a permanent rate buydown instead of dropping the price.  It can boost the pool of qualified buyers as well as save your seller some substantial cash.

Saw the movie, and others like it. Attitude applies to pretty much everything. Have seen it work wonders with health. As for Sellers, part of a positive attitude that leads to a successful sale is accepting market reality, and price, positively.
