Yesterday afternoon my daughters Nicole and Victoria and I headed out to see their favorite band, The Jonas Brothers, play. They were so excited as we took off from home in a horrible downpour. I was really concerned as the concert was rain or shine and we had lawn seats. As luck would have it we arrived at beautiful Bethel Woods (on the original sight of the famous Woodstock Festival of 1969) and found blue skies and dry lawn.
Of course we got there at the crack of early, I think the girls would have slept over in the parking lot if I let them, but we had parking right up near the entrance. Right in front of the entrance there was a bus that is traveling the tour with the Jonas Brothers.
The lines were frustrating and we waited a long time to get in but the weather favored us all day and night. It was a sell out crowd (only the third one at this relatively new venue)
Believe it or not I have become a fan of these wonderful kids. They are refreshingly humble and deeply religious. They all wear purity rings. The youngest, Nick, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes two and a half years ago and they have been raising hope and funds for research for this disease. They a really more than the latest pop star sensation.
The girls took a lot of concert footage and pics that I don't have on this camera and they are still sleeping as we did not get home until after 1 AM. All in all it was a fantastic day with my girls and I enjoyed the concert itself a lot more than I expected to.
