Customer Service - A Happy Customer?

By
Real Estate Agent with Waterfront and Boaters paradise Realtor!

Arrived at a closing on Monday with my Seller, and the Buyer arrived with out a Cashiers Check for her 11K+ Funds due at closing.  hmm! she wasn't told by her agent or her lender what the requirements and expectations were.  The Buyer had to leave and go to the Bank, which delayed the closing 45min. So as we proceed through the paperwork that the Seller needs to sign, then the Bueyr comes back, winded, HOT, Tired and OVER HEATED. She felt like she missed important information about her transaction.  Then her payment ended up being $300.00 more than she expected because of her tax and insurance impounds.  She almost walked away. and I felt so bad for her. Because of my focus on customer service, I'm proud to say I have never had a client experience the stress and exaspiration as this Buyer experienced.  And do you think she will remember a great experience with her agent or a bad one?  If she has a referral do you think she would refer her agent, or the one who follows up with her in a plesant friendly manner?

Wow!  Who did that loan?  I wouldn't blame this on the Realtor so much, but missing the payment by $300 is an awfull oversite.  Did this buyer have any communication with the mortgage broker?  If you need a GREAT mortgage broker that will avoid problems like these and keep you informed, I'm in Lakeland - Randall 863-229-1235

Sorry about your closing.

This is quite incredible.  I fortunately, have not witnessed anything like that.  You would think between the lender and the title company -- someone would have told her about brining cash.  Our title companies send out a letter to that effect -- along with what else the buyer needs to bring.

Sheila, I was thinking you should tell her that's 'not how you do it', and put her on your mailing list.  You just never know.  :)

I've been a Realtor for 7 months and I've had a few closing under my belt.  The very first thing i did was go back to my experience as the client/buyer and remembered how i felt going in to close my first home.  So i sat down and wrote out a letter of what to expect, might happen and what your going to need at a closing.  At the bottom of the page I put "I will always get you the information you need to close your home!"  I give that letter to them right at the begining of our first contact.  I get referrals because of that letter and everyone they have refered has said the samething, "It's hard to find someone that understands customer service.

I spent 14 years in the automotive industry were everyday was about customer service!
