Andrew, Kelly has it right.  The old saying is that you could shoot a shotgun from the front door and the bullets would go right out of the back door.  Lots of historic homes here were designed this way, built on piers with high ceilings and lots of windows for air circulation.  The traditional shotgun had a living room in front, bedrooms in the middle and the kitchen and bathroom at the very back of the house.  Over the years people have changed the configurations since most of us don't want our guests walking through our bedrooms to get to the kitchen.

Oh, and it's a single because many of these were built as doubles (I think you call them duplexes up there).

Kelly, with a lot measuring 18.2 x 128, you have to be efficient :)

Jo, if you look at the first pic, you'll see just a bit of a car on the left side.  That's the neighbor parked in their own driveway.  These houses were all built VERY close to one another, which is why the corner lot is the icing on the cake.

Debbie, this is very typical construction in the older and historic areas in and around New Orleans, but most of them are not in the wonderful shape that this one is.  It's going to be a great new home for someone.

Lisa, I love this home, I don't think it looks small at all!  I am drawn to places that are cozy, not huge :)

Carole, it's an adorable house that will make someone a really nice, cozy home and the floorplan makes it feel so much larger!
