A bobby pin, a lid and baby soap

Home Stager with Dressed for Success

You are probably wondering what these things have to do with Home Staging.  While I was giving my 3 kids their bath this evening, the two youngest were not cooperating.  Since I couldn't leave the bathroom, I decided to improvise. Using what I had on hand, I found a way to make Bubbles!  Let me tell you, the mood in that bathroom immediately changed, and screams of displeasure turned into squeals of laughter.

Home staging is like Bubbles - You use what the home owner has, you come up with creative solutions, and you turn every day items in to something special!

When the Mood changes in a room, in a home - everything changes.

Nice post.  My two kids are 8 and 9 now but I remember bath time well.

That's a great idea!  My kids are similiar to yours.  What's funny is they hate to take baths/shower but the second I get them finally in I can't seem to get them out!  And only creative people such as yourself and the other stagers can turn something ordinary into something wonderful...that's why we get paid!  And it's fun too!

Alyse that is awesome! Instead of getting stressed we stagers do find creative solutions!  There is an answer to every problem.  If we just relax and wait the solutions come forth!    Sue

Alyse, you just described the very things that I love the most about staging.  I am a laid-back person by nature but when I am staging a house that needs my creative side, the adrenalin is pumping through my veins while the ideas are running through my brain....what a rush.....something I like to call "stager's high"!

Thank you everyone!  It was truly an ah ha! Moment for me... It is certainly one of the things I love about staging as well, the ability to be creative and the power to change how people feel about something!

I think what I find about most things I love - writing, staging, raising kids - is that I do get to be creative. Doing so is always the highlight of any day!

Great analogy. Constant improvisation is one of the things that makes this creative field even more so. For people that get bored easily, staging offers lots of variation.
