I've been reading the book titled, " The Dream Cycle," by Steve Moore. I wanted to share some exerpts that I am finding helpful. This is pretty powerful stuff, I believe....
"Every one of us is on a journey toward who we want to be, who we were meant to be, and what we will achieve with our lives. Making progress on that dream-inspire journey will require us to grow."
"In order to realize your dreams, you must grow. And growth demands change. Therefore the Dream Cycle will never be complete in your life until you experience personal change. I cannot stress this point too much: you must change in order to realize your dreams."
"The good news is change is possible. You have the capacity to change because you have the ability to grow. This is something you can do. The bad news is that change is not easy. There are powerful forces that work against your personal growth, and you must be prepared to confront them if you are to expand your capacity and realize your dreams. While our bodies are in a constant cycle of change, our emotions tend to fight against change in an effort to protect the status quo---even when that is less than desirable."
"You--like everyone else--have an innate preference for the status quo. You would rather maintain your comfort zone than expend the effort it will take to change. It's true that most of us would prefer the results of change to the status quo, but we prefer the status quo over the effort required to bring about change. In order to realize your dreams, you must overpower the inertia of the status quo and overcome the barriers to personal growth. You must change."
