My staging business is relatively new. Projects that I am called in to stage that have lanquished on the market for over a year have sold in three weeks after
my team and I come in and stage them. The problem I seem to be running into is the lack of understanding about how important it is, especially
in today's market, to stage a property. Next to pricing a property correctly, staging is the next in line for getting prospective buyers interested. Does
anyone out there in real estate land have any thoughts on the best way to approach sellers and realtors about the importance of staging. I usually
get, "Oh I've packed things away and cleaned so the house looks fine", or "I don't want to spend any money on staging the house, I'm losing money as it is!"
What they don't seem to understand is that as they have to drop the price $20,000, $40,000, $50,000, etc, the cost of having staged the property is minimal
compared to the price reductions!
