Helping Realtors Become Real Estate Investors

By
Education & Training with Zip Realty

As a Broker, it's amazing to me how few of us actually invest in our own product!  If you're an agent or Broker interested in becoming a real estate investor, I invite you to contact me.

I'm involved in helping those of us who regulary help investors buy properties become the investors actually buying properties.  To date, including myself, I've helped 3 agents and 2 clients become real estate investors, and I want to build those numbers.

I'm not selling anything, and if the property bought is out of state, I don't even get a commission!  I do this because I'm embarrassed by the fact that so many of us call ourselves "Professionals" when we don't even believe in our product enough to buy it.

Can you tell an investment client what the average Cap Rate is for an area?  What the Cash on Cash return is? Can you tell them which strategy should be used in South Tacoma and why that strategy may differ in Central Bellingham?  What about markets outside of Washington?  Can you point your clients to an investment in say, Greely, Co and earn a finder's fee?  Do you talk to investors in terms of square footage, carrying costs and zoning challenges? If not, what business do we have calling ourselves "Real Estate Professionals?"

I am employed by Zip Realty, Inc., and I am a State-Licensed Clock Hours Instructor, but this is a separate cause.  I tell you all that so there is full disclosure.  I'm not trying to convert anyone or to sell anything. I just sincerely believe EVERY real estate agent should at least be able to speak about investing, and that most of us should BE Investors.
