BLOGGING MAGIC
January 1st started a new year, but I made none of the usual resolutions about loseing weight, etc. I did however discover this place called Active Rain and - what the hey - gave it a try.
Being 'technically challenged' it was a struggle to get going. Did alot of lurking. Stuck the toe in the water with a couple of comments, finally dove in and did a post. Spent hour after hour reading posts, learning alot, but still feeling totally inadequate, especially after reading so many posts from really intelligent and experienced realtors.
AR is habit forming, especially when I realized how considerate and helpful this community was. It has been a difficult few months as a realtor in Shell Knob in this business - the fun had gone out of it for me, but AR has renewed my hope. Then this week the dam burst open!
Leads - honest to gosh real live leads! Localism has got to be the reason for them. One lady told me that she was looking for someone who really knew my market and it looked like I fit the bill! Another one from the east coast is gabbing with me on line like we are old friends, and a call this morning had me searching my memory banks for where I had met this lady. She came on to me like we had been neighbors forever and would I please talk to her about listing her acreage with water frontage (oh yeah). Finally decided I had never met her before this call.
Still have a long way to go on doing links, etc, but have called in the techno forces, my geek kid who earns a very nice living doing this stuff, to come help Mom. Hopefully that will improve my exposure and more good leads will follow.
