55 and older communities like Eagles Trace are still selling homes. Why? The customer who purchases a home in a 55 or older active adult community does not really want to wait to buy their next home at this point in their life. It is disappointing that they will not be able to sell their existing home for as much as they would have 2-3- years ago however these sellers have seen the housing market prices fluctuate a few times in their lifetime which makes them more realistic in their approach to selling their existing home. Subsequently these sellers/potential buyers are amongst the first to lower the price of the home they are selling allowing them to sell their homes today and take advantage of the retirement homes that are priced to sell today. By doing this these buyers/sellers will be able to recapture the profits they lost by not selling their homes 2-3 years ago when they eventually sell the home they are buying today. These buyers understand that labor and material costs will continue to rise subsequently affecting the purchase price of all new homes.
