How to advertise a new website...? advice?

Hey Marketing gurus :)

My website, www.jakeplanton.com, is about to be launched.  I have been pouring over a bunch of blogs on here all day, trying to find great ideas on how to market the website, cheaply.  I have a bunch of social networking sites I will be posting it on, including: myspace, facebook, linkedin, pulse, twitter, and even on Craigslist.  Does anyone have any other ideas?

I plan on making up some fliers with the design/logo/background on it.  But where to put them all is my next big question.  I was planning on running an ad in the local paper, but the cost is just too much for me right now, in this kind of market.  Any ideas?

Anything will help, thanks in advance!

Jake

Jacob,

Have your realtors link to you and vice-versa.  The more exposure your website has on other sites, the higher up in google you will be recognized.

Good luck, Jacob!

Wow, glad to hear you are taking that task on yourself. I guess if you aren't selling houses then you will have plenty of time to work on your marketing...at least until your efforts pay off and you are too busy selling to work on your own marketing. That's the plan I am sure.

My suggestions would be to also put your listings on Google Base, Trulia, Oodle, Zillow, Locale, etc.
Then make those listings point to your new site. Those would be free links for your new site that way and they will also help your new site get indexed and fully crawled faster as well.

Good luck! Look me up if you ever need any kind of  help with your site.

Put you website on every single marketing piece you use.  There should be links or a web address foryour website on anything potential clients might see.  Except in blog comments because that's just not proper etiquette.

Jake,

Put it everywhere, business cards, stationary, email signature line, car window decal, license plate frame, key chains, tee shirts, giveaway pens you give clients and agents (agents always need pens). Even your voicemail greeting. The possibilities are endless. Best of luck.
