Jack frost nipping at my nose....

Alright, we put up with the frigid winter temps, the slick icy roads and the diminished daylight for the majority of the year so we can have warm, dry arctic desert summers. I don't know where our summer went this year but it certainly won't be described as warm and dry. First came the incessent rain followed, of course by flooding and now the national weather service is telling us to prepare for the first frost of the season. Truly?

Sorry to disappoint you egghead weather folks, but we've already crossed that disgusting weather bridge. The photo below was taken two weeks ago at about 7:30AM. That white stuff you see across what was my green lawn... yep, you guessed it. Frost on the pumpkin.

One report tonight suggested we could see temps drop as low as the mid 20's. Break out the electric blankets and get me a cup of hot buttered rum. Mother Nature is off her meds. Stay warm, ya'll. Now where are my electric socks?

No wonder we've had a few people from Alaska move here. WE get into the teens for lows, but not until at LEAST November, and probably December. And we get Spring by end of March. That's way too much Winter for me where you live.

Jesse, I honestly don't think I could cope living in a colder climate than right here in West Chester.  I like spring, summer and fall.  I like winter for maybe two weeks prior and up to Christmas.  After that, I moving to the RV camp near Amanda!  Great picture!  Has all of the company come and gone for the season?

Only an idea!  Ok, so maye not a good one.  I like the looks of your neighborhood.

P.S.  I lived in Alaska at one time if you consider Anchorage Alaska.  It's not too rugged there.

JESSE, you are bringing back memories of why I will put up with the heat of a Houston summer to enjoy the rest of the year.  We lived in Colorado for 15 years and it was not unusual to have frost by the middle of Septemeber but frost in August YUCK.

Global warming at its finest! I don't know what it is, but the last two years I've been just fascinated with the History Channel show "Ice Road Truckers" that tracks drivers who drive on rivers and lakes and this year even the ocean to deliver supplies to mining camps. I have a hard time even imagining walking on ice and the sound of cracking ice that these guys here wouldn't get me to go near it.

While we are certainly no where near frost....I hear ya on the "where did summer go?" Actually, I think my question is "why didn't Summer ever visit?".  Look at the brightside, it's time for some late night fireside blog fests :-)
