The Love of a Father by Jim Hildreth

As a long-term real estate broker, I have learned that real estate is all about "Dreams."

The California Gold Country and Sonora is a destination for many buyers from the Bay Area and, in particular, buyers from Santa Clara Couunty.

Buyers who plan to retire, buyers who want to find a lot to build there future home, buyers who desire and dream of a mountain cabin.

This weekend, the foothills were drenched with pouring rain and snow.

A prospective buyer was Murray.

Murray is 80 years old and is a native of New York. Like many people his age, he has worked thorougout his life. He has lost his wife and he has a small savings and pension.

Murray is frugal and lives in a retirement home in San Mateo.

His dream is to find a mountain home that has a year-round creek, tall trees and a destination for his daughter and grandchildren.

His visit was a wonderful experience for me as a broker, as he was determined to find that special property.

Rains did not stop him, mountains did not stop him and, being 80, he examined multiple properties with a clear vision and mission.

Murray taught me that the Love of a parent is a powerfull force, that life does go on and his "Dreams" are not only for the present, but the future.

He made an offer and we hope to learn this week of the outcome.

A mountain home was purchased.
