Litchfield County Labor Market:
Litchfield County saw 70 layoffs occur during the early part of the 4th Quarter of 2006. Despite the decline in employment, the average monthly unemployment rate fell from 3.9% during the third quarter to 3.5% in the fourth quarter of 2006. Despite the job losses, the labor market remains relatively strong and should have a positive impact on home purchases during the first part of 2007.
