Tiger Without a Tail! Please Be Kind To Animals!

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Advantage South

I have been feeding a family of cats in my garage for some time now.  The mama kitty had kittens and I had her spayed so THAT won't happen again.  Three of the kittens still make our garage their primary dining and sleeping residence, and we have names for all of them.  Actually they haven't been kittens for a while and we have had them spayed/neutured also.

We thought we had lost Tiger.....he was missing for weeks.  Suprisingly, he turned up on Memorial Day weekend.  I was so glad to see him I did not notice right away, but his tail was gone!  He seemed fine and was ready for dinner.  I can not imagine what happened.  It really made me sick to think about the possibility that someone had been cruel and deliberately hurt him.

Cat Without a Tail

Here is my little Tiger without a tail, relaxing on the cool garage floor.  He continues to get along fine, but it makes me sad to think of what he went through and how it must have hurt.  I am thankful that whatever happened did not make him less loving towards us.  He does seem to have a skittish nature around the other cats at times....I guess they all sense that something is different.

Ann:  That is why my cats are indoor cats.  I can't stand to think of people's cruelty to animals.  I am glad your cat is okay.

I didn't mention to you all that I also have three indoor cats.  I have adopted these that live outside because I felt they needed someone to care for them too.  If I could bring them inside I would, but I can barely keep up the litter boxes as it is now.  I always worry about their safety!

I had a calico many years ago who lost her tail. SHe crawled up in my neighbors car engine and went to sleep. She was lucky the tail was al she lost. The vet said it wasn't too uncommon.
