Willistead Manor will host "the most beautiful traffic jam of the year" on August 24, when the owners of about 200 museum-quality automobiles from all over North America meet at the Willistead Classic & Antique Car Show.

Craig Wood, co-chairman of the Willistead Classic committee, says, "We've got a lot of cool cars this year -- a lot of old cars from the 20s, 30s, and the nineteen tens."  So far 175 cars have registered for the show and many more are likely register before the show starts.   You can see photos of 125 of the entries online at www.willisteadclassic.com.  In addition, the Ford Model T is celebrating its Centennial in 2008 and will be a featured marque.

The Willistead Classic & Antique Car Show opens at 9 a.m., and the "most beautiful traffic jam of the year usually starts at 7:30, as the registrants converge with their cars and their trailers.  Spectators enjoy the sight.

Tickets are $10 and proceeds go to the mansion's preservation fund.  For more information email cvanderdoelen@thestar.canwest.com or call 519-255-5777, ext. 645.
