By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with T.U.P. Realty

I have been gone from active reain for awhile and I guess I missed the memo on localism. I clicked there and saw my competitors face jump out at me. I will be blogging again now. So tell me guys what is the best way to  be the top neighbor? I hope to hear from alot of you. I hope I havent been absent for too long. :)

You have to PAY to sponsor a neighborhood or community. Other than that, you can just continue to blog about your area and the better content you have, the better chance a consumer will contact you rather than the paid sponsor.

Get back in there Jeff....does not take long to lose momentum....Donna stated it really well...I am the top neighbor in my area just from blogging but I did purchase my 2 favorite areas near me.

It is points. They have more than you. Just keep on blogging and commenting and shortly you will be there.

Localism no longer depends on how many points you have.  The person who blogs the most during that day/week is being shown as a top neighbor.  Points are obsolete in Localism.

Jeff:  I am about as confused with this new localism as I can be.  I was out of the loop for awhile too.  But, I can tell you that I've been researching your question because I have the same one.  This is what I found - does not depend on points or buying communities - go to www.localism.com and you will see in small print (I found it on the right side of the screen) How to Be a Top Neighbor and it will explain about blogging, etc.  I think Donna's last comment has it right.  Not points and not buying communities is what makes you a top neighbor.

I was alerted by a fellow agent that my blog for a local neighborhood with photos, etc.... appeared with a photo of another agent next to it with a link to her as "top neighbor" - I'm not really thrilled with my input being linked to look like it came from another agent.
