Do you write your own blogs? Or does your assistant?

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Fort Lauderdale Beach

Just curious here...Do you write the content of your blogs...or do you commission a secretary or another agent/assistant to do the deed for you? As a Realtor(r), do you care what is posted under your name?

Do you trust who posts for you?

Why do you trust someone else, and why don't you take the time to post yourself?

I just wonder.  Do you know the content of what is posted here under your name?

Do you have someone else writing your blogs?

Do you proof-read them before they are posted?

Do you care what is written under your name?

Do you commission someone to write/post for you for points?

Do you value your reputation? Have you reviewed their posts under your name?

Do you even care?

You should...tell your poster here to let me know....

I'm really curious...

I love to write blogs and to this day have written 455 of them, they all come from my heart.

I love the reactions and answer's from other's on here. I cannot even imagine having someone else write a blog with my name on it.

It's individual information...not for another to post for you...I know several people who do this though.  Is it fair to do this for points? No, it really isn't.

JMHO.

Thanks to all of you posting your opinions. Keep them coming! I'd love to hear from all of you member's here!

Definitely written all of my posts. But I know of agents who hire virtual assistants to write posts so they'll always stay one step (or point) ahead so they'll stay in the top neighbor position. Unfortunately, then it becomes about points and not about quality!

I write all of my own posts.  Otherwise, what is the point?  Nobody would be able to get to know the real me...

I write all of my blogs - here on AR as well as on my other blog (my main focus).   When I post listings, it's my marketing assistant that does the listing information.  Everything else is me me me.

You can actually tell if an assistant posts something. There is an agent in my area whos assistant does the town market updates & you can tell just by the wording that it's not him.  I think that you should write your own posts & obviously supervise those, after all it is your name.

Karen, I have my team of assistants write all of my blogs for me...yeah, right. I write my own as I think you can tell. Plus I don't even have an assistant. Would be nice though...

Kar-kar,

My assistant is never with me at midnight when I think of the meat & potatoes for my blogs! (just kidding....I don't have an assistant)  But the only reasons I can think anyone would do this is laziness and greed. They want the exposure but don't make the time. It's deceptive to the readers though. Because you don't know who you're communicating to.  You just keep on doing it the way you do. We enjoy reading what's in your heart!

I often wonder how some people have time to write as often as they do. It makes sense that some must commission someone to write for them. Too bad there is not a way to only have agents who only write for themselves and post to give out information and share as opposed to just typing things so they get picked up by search engines. Just my thoughts.

I write my own. There was a time I thought I will do what my competitors are doing and hire someone to blog for me but I just couldn't do that. It's like a lie to the reader.

Mike,

I'm single, my children are grown and finally out of college, I live alone, and blog at night while I'm bored to death with the crap on TV...I write all my own blogs. Period, end of story.

What prompted this post was hearing on several occasions that other's have their assistants write blogs for them and to enter listings for them to gain points...that just pee'd me off...so I just wondered if anyone else did it...

NOW...THINK ABOUT THIS...IF THEY DID, DO YOU THINK THEY WOULD ADMIT IT?

Not on your life, however, these people are very astute and the poor language and mispelled words and the mis-information...makes it quite obvious.  You thing they would at least take the time to proof-read.

Tina,

There has to be something wrong with people who commission assistant's to write their feelings.  It's like a blatant lie...and to be a high end agent and trust an assistant...way on and edge of a cliff I don't want to be on!

Thank you for posting.

Karen, early on I briefly considered subscribing to some kind of professional service to supply blogging material on a regular basis.  I soon decided that if I wanted a personal relationship with my readers, it could only be me that wrote the posts.

I agree, I want my personality on my blogs...not an assistant...It certainly is a personal relationship...Thank you for taking the time to post on my blog.

Cindy,

How do you work that? Do you preview or approve of what they write? Just curious.

You know, I often wondered, and then slapped myself thinking how silly I was being ... but there are a few people I read once in a while, and I always wonder... first at the number of posts a person can write in a given day (every day, every week, every month); then I wonder why sometimes the post and the comments all read so differently ... like two different people 'talking'... hmmmmm....

I write my own ... unfortunately I'm not a writer and I struggle with everyone, but it's all mine.

Do people really have their assistants write their posts??  There should be a rule about this.  It shouldn't be.

Yes I proof read my posts.  I write them,  I take pride in my work...my work.
