We Have All Said It, Now Isin't It Time We Take Action?
It absolutely amazes me the number of people I encounter who tell me about all the great real estate opportunities they passed on only to say, I should of, I could of, if only I would have bought that property back then. Why is it so many of us recognize opportunities yet still fail to take action.
The news media has continued to drive home the point every day that the U.S. real estate and mortgage market is in a meltdown. How much of this is reality and how much of this is information overload that is causing many to react not based upon facts but based upon what they hear in the news?
Unfortuantely, what many do not realize is that the world is not in the same market meltdown that is occurring in the U.S. Dubai is developing and experiencing tremendous appreciation. Cost a Rica is also a real estate market that is stable. All one has to do is have a look around and you will not find the two major conditions that exist in the U.S that are causing the problems we are experiencing today.
First problem: Over supply of inventory. In Costa Rica this hardly exist. No matter where you go, it is very difficult to find excess standing inventory of developer product. If you want a home or condominium you either buy a resale from an existing seller or you sign up with a developer and wait about a year for them to build your home.
Second Problem: Tightened Money Supply. In the U.S. markets there are a lot of buyers who would love to buy at today's prices but can't find a lender to lend them the money. No money to buy, fewer homes selling, supply stays elevated because of lack of sales and prices continue to drop. In Costa Rica, U.S. citizens can borrow from local lenders. Yes, there are qualifying guidelines, but in general it is probably easier to borrow money in Costa Rica these days than it is in the U.S.
With these two issues plaguing the U.S. real estate market, it is no wonder why things do not look very promising here in the U.S. For those that recognize there is opportunity outside of the U.S., are now discovering Costa Rica is not only a great opportunity. Not only for buying as an investment but it is an incredible place to vacation or even retire.
How many of us know someone that talks of, should of, could of, would of bought Hawaii 15 years ago? If history repeats itself and you reading this and not taking the time to investigate Costa Rica further, you too will be saying, "I should of, I could of, I would of, BUT, instead of saying "I DID!"
