Let's be Honest

Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty

Everone, no matter the situation, but especially in my line of work as in real estate sales, must be honest. Evidently, people who stretch the truth or just right out lie must be desperate or just don't give a crap. And when the real estate business is challenged it seems some practitioners will do whatever they have to make a dime. I've got news for some of those bone-heads. It's going to come back to haunt you. The stories I hear from buyes and sellers tells it all-they say just be honest. I say the same thing. Whats the deal? I had this gal, whose from another country, come up to me the other day and said I shouldn't even try to compete with her because she would do whatever it took to beat me-and that meant EVERYTHING. I just hope for the sake of the poor buyers and sellers out there that they never have to run into some of these folks because it's just a dirty rotten shame people like that exist. I mean, I can get on my high horse and yell at the top of my lungs, "go back to where you came from". We're Americans and we don't do buiness like that. Anyone else feel this way. What have you run into? And your secrets? Let me know, I'd love to hear. Thanks.

This is a huge problem with certain people.  "The ones that serve with truths will dominate those who are in it for the transaction."  Additionally, true colors do shine through."  The creme will shine forever.

Getting to the top means alot to some folks. Here in the USA, where many immigrants have made their home, obtaining the American Dream is a conquest. My family came from Poland, Germany, Israel and tried to make a better life for my sister and myself. It seems that some people will do ANYTHING to make it.

We get the majority of our business from "referrals". And the fact that we are "referrred" to someone means so much to us. We value that trust. That trust comes from us being honest with our clients.

This "gal" as you call her, should not be in the business...it IS very unfortunate that she is the type of people that give our industry such a bad name. But chin up! She will not succeed. And YOU will!

I know many people that "HONESTY" is only a matter if whether you get caught or not.  I can't live with that, personally.

I've got a situation where a former broker has "implied" dishonesty on my part in  a letter to all my former collegues and I am just LIVID about it right now because my number one guiding priniciple (and you can verify that with my wife and kids!) is HONESTY.  Not just to speak honestly  but to ACT as well!

I completely agree. Being honest is key.  We all know who the dishonest people are, and I don't understand how they stay in business.
