What are people giving as closing gifts?

My clients this year all seem to be pregnant or investors.  The investors get a paintbrush with a lowe's gift card stuck in the bristles, plus a basket of muffins and brownies personally delivered to their office with a stack of business cards and a thank you note.

My pregnant young couples have gotten gift baskets with a mix of baby items and kitchen towels.

One agent in my office does an adorable hand painted picnic basket filled with all the picnic necessities, and a gift card to a local restaurant.  Another does a photo of the family with their new home and has it framed before closing.

Sometimes I will give them a gift certificate to a locksmith so they can have the doors re-keyed ASAP.

I give my clients a return address stamp.  I think it is something everyone will use.  The beauty of it is the on the physical stamp is all my contact info.  I normally put it with a bottle of wine.  It depends on the client. 

I like to give them something they can not eat or drink. because once it is gone, it is gone and so is the "reminder" that you helped them. I like closing gifts that are "standing out" and that they can keep in the house. subconsciously they remember that their Realtor gave it to them, and if it is something beautiful or different, people will ask, where did you get this and the answer is "My Realtor gave it to me"
