Thursday evening, 8/21/08, Chris and Maria Skrip visited Gary and Lori Intoccia and their family at Cooper's Point near Darien, GA.  When we arrived, Gary and Lori said they had found a place that we absolutely had to visit for dinner.  It was the Old School Diner featuring Chef Jerome!  Made famous by Ben Affleck, Old School Diner will soon appear on David Letterman!  Chef Jerome came out after our meal for pictures and after dinner talk.  I asked him how did he get my flounder to taste so good.  Chef Jerome said, "I do not have air conditioning in my kitchen.  I will never have air conditioning in my kitchen because you know I am "Old School".  Also, when the hot fried food comes out of the fryer, if it hits that cold air (from air conditioning), it seals in the oil and makes the fish greasy.  I'll never have air conditioning in my kitchen for that reason." Who knew?!?

If you are ever in coastal Georgia and looking for an adventure, go on a drive-about and find Old School Diner.  It will definitely be worth your time!  Chris and Maria Skrip own RE/MAX Sea Island Realty in Beaufort South Carolina and Lori Intoccia is a Realtor at RE/MAX Platium Group and works with Dan Corrigan as a team.
