Don't Be Dorky, Okay? Your NAR Dollars at Work...

A few days ago, one of my articles was featured at Realty Times. It was one I wrote for Ricardo Bueno's Blog Project - "Building a Community Around Your Blog."

The title of my article was "Successful Blogging for Real Estate Agents - Don't be DORKY!" I was rather proud of it; thought it was well-written and clever and even a little insightful. Well, apparently, Realtor.org thought they could do better.

Here's my version.

Here's their version -- that went out to many of you in the daily Realtor.org magazine. Lots of agents wrote to me "congratulating" me on the feature.

Well, I was tickled to learn that Russell Shaw at Agent Genuis (www.agentgenuis.com) picked it up and ran with it. He so GOT the irony of my advising agents not to be DORKY when they blog... summarized in an amazingly DORKY fashion by the editors at Realtor.org.

Jennifer, the Realtor magazine one was oh so brief. Yours had more depth and style. Kind of like they were on a number of words limit or diet!! Good stuff you put out as always.

Realtor Magazine ... That wasnt even an article... It was a headline!  It is a double edged sword... I like it when my "stuff" gets picked up... But hate it when it is so chopped up that it isnt even a hint of what I was trying to get across.

Erica - HA! Try getting anything thru to NAR - but that's a different topic. They absolutely butchered the last piece of mine that they "summarized" and wouldn't respond to me, not to Realty Times, not to my ad agency...

I have to say that YOUR blog was probably one of the best I have ever read.  What is so disappointing is that they didn't put what you wrote on Realtor.com.  They completely missed it.   That is such a bummer!
